Decades of Dedication: Search Begins for Long Service Award Recipients

Farm workers and agricultural business employees, who have been in service for 25 years on the same farm or with the same employer, are urged to apply for Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society’s Long Service Awards 2026.

The President and Trustees of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society wish to offer inscribed Awards to workers who have not received a Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Long Service Award previously.

There were ten recipients for the Long Service Awards at last year’s County Show including: Marion Davies and Susan James from the Farmers Union of Wales; Joy Williams who has worked for Fenton Vets for 50 years; Four drivers with Clynderwen & Cardiganshire Farmers CCF - Malcolm Davies, Lloyd Childs, Mark Rees and Aled Vaughan. Dylan Thomas who has worked for Teulu Evans for 25 years. Beth Morgan from the Oak Veterinary Group and Richard Vaughan from Pembrokeshire College.

The 2026 Long Service Awards presentation will take place on Wednesday, 19 August from 4pm, in the President’s Pavilion at the Pembrokeshire County Show and the Award recipients and guests will receive complimentary entry tickets to the show.

Mrs Kathryn Evans, this year’s President of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society, said:

“As a Society, we take great pride in recognising individuals who have shown exceptional loyalty through long service with a single employer in the county. This is a significant achievement and one we feel is worthy of formal recognition. We look forward to receiving applications for this year’s Long Service Award.”

Conditions of the Award being given are:

1. The recipient must, on the first day of the Annual Show, have been in service for 25 years on the same farm continuously, or continuously in the service of the same employer within Pembrokeshire. 

2. The employer must be a member of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society for the present year.

Pembrokeshire County Show, the largest county agricultural show in Wales, will take place on 19 and 20 August 2026.
