Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Student of the Year Winners
Congratulations to Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society student of the year winners Elliot Jenkins (full-time at Coleg Sir Gar),, Rhys Bevan (part-time at Coleg Sir Gar) and Pembrokeshire College equine student Jack Wood.***Winner of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society student of the year part-time Coleg Sir Gar award is Rhys Bevan, a 23-year-old former full-time student at the college where he obtained his foundation degree.Rhys has been an active member of Llysyfran YFC for some eight years and its activities have been a large part of his life.He has competed for Pembrokeshire, Wales and at international level in the efficiency with safety discipline and has been part of the winning national team on a number of occasions.He was educated at Puncheston Primary School and Ysgol Preseli and is now farming in partnership with his parents, Hugh and Elin Bevan, at Penymynydd Mawr, Puncheston. They have a long association with the agricultural society.Rhys took part in a variety of YFC activities, including public speaking, and delights in designing and building sets for rally productions.He played rugby for Narberth as a junior.Show president Nicola Owen is seen presenting Rhys with his award.

Winner of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Pembrokeshire College equine student is Jack Wood received his award from show president Nicola Owen. Jack was announced as the winner by his tutor Mike Butcher who described him as a 'very industrious young fellow' and praised his attendance and respect shown for fellow students and staff. "Jack is a pleasure to work with," said Mike at the awards ceremony on day one of the County Show.
