The event was promoted on the Society's  social media platforms Facebook and Instagram in place of the ever-popular Christmas fayre held previously at the Parkhouse Building at the County Showground in Haverfordwest, but unfortunately cancelled this year because of Covid-19 restrictions. Thanks to generous sponsorship from Blas y Tir, Prendergast Butchers and the Welsh Government,  the "Virtual Christmas" brought to life all the favourite attractions from the event showcasing an array of 'stalls' from local traders, exciting Christmas cracker competitions, cookery and floral display demonstrations, plus a variety show featuring carols, an appearance from Father Christmas and a seasonal message from the show's chaplain Rev. Michael Rowlands.Christmas Cracker competition winners were: Panasonic TV from Vaughans, Haverfordwest - Jan Carew; beauty treatment  from Celtic Wellbeing - Meinir George; hamper from Brian Llewelyn a'i Ferched, Traditional Country Stores - Sylvia Watkins; meal for two at The Bristol Trader - Rhian Horner; Hikoki twin pack grinder and items from Ladds Ironmongers, Clynderwen - Emily Victoria and Arwel Beynon; Gintastic Afternoon Tea, Charlie's Steaks, Grills and Pizzas at Meadow House Holiday Park, Celtic Holiday Parks - Beryl Davies, while winner of the Burns doggy Christmas outfit competition was Mr. Harvey Woo owned by Xoe Maxine.Said show PAS president Stephen James: "2020 proved to be a very challenging year with all events cancelled. It has been difficult for us all to engage with friends and family in a normal way. Pembrokeshire Show's "Virtual Christmas"  went some way to give us ideas for seasonal gifts and allowed us to take some time away from current issues."Therefore, thanks to Prendergast Butchers and Blas y Tir for sponsoring the month-long social media features, to Farming Connect for their support and all the businesses which offered their products and services."It was a great opportunity to help raise the profile of the many rural charities who play a vital role under the current circumstances."Finally, thanks to all those who contributed in the many different ways to make this concept work."For the latest news on Pembrokeshire County Show on August 17, 18 and 19, 2021, visit www.pembsshow.org or follow the show on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pembscountyshow and on Instagram @pembsshow
